Actually, I think that anonymous has got something there. But I think that Deborah would be a WAY better choice than the Apostle Paul. A bit progressive, I know, but if I'm going to vote in people who aren't alive, I can't let anything else hold me back.
Although he has a snowball's chance in hell of winning an election against such charming individuals as Barak or Mitt, check out http://www.alankeyes.com/video.php In watching some of his videos and reading about his beliefs, it grieves me that Christ followers did not rally around him when he was running for Senator in IL.
I have heard good things about Alan Keyes from a few people but know virtually nothing about him. Thanks for the link.
Does this mean you'll be writing his name on the ballot come 2008 . . . or do you only vote for people who have a chance (per your vegas odds reference to snow-balls in hell).
If I *had* to choose among those four, I suppose I'd grudgingly choose Mitt. I'd almost support Rudy, but I can't, in good conscience, vote for anybody who supports abortion. As for the field at large...I don't know. I can't say anybody has really excited me yet. I've been impressed by Alan Keyes in the past, but I know he has no chance of being elected president.
On the Democrat side, I'd definitely take Barak over Hillary, but then I'd take my neighbor's dog over Hillary.
Sadly, it seems that the entire system has been geared to weed out the best candidates and prevent them from running. On the whole, it looks like this may be shaping up to be another "lesser of two evils" election. Hopefully, I'll be proven wrong - we'll see.
I'm voting constitutional party, which is putting me at odds with my congregation (some of them are staunce Repubs) and my dear friends in the body.....
I'm tired of the Republican answer to the democratic nominees..."But they're worse than we are."
I'm the best friend of Kara, father of Lucas, minister, author (The Feast), life-long Piston fan . . . I am the Preaching and Teaching Minister for the Otter Creek Church (Nashville) and I am working on a doctorate degree (second year) at Columbia Seminary studying the relationship of postmodernism and Christianity.

forget Fred Thompson, what about Ron Paul?
Ok, I really want Obama for the win, but Hillary will be voted in.
If I HAD to choose between the four, I would choose Mitt. Overall, Huckabee, Paul, and Thompson would get my vote sooner in that order.
You're right, Ron Paul needs some love. Guess you'll have to write him in on the ballot.
Cassie--I've heard that same sentiment from various people. We'll see . . .
David: Thanks for your viewpoint. I'm surpised there have not been more sharing the same slant thus far.
Barak.
Josh,
Are you going to share with us where your vote went?
Paul from the new testatment

...unbelievable.
Is Anonymous messing with Josh for his conversation with Paul message from a month ago?
Ohh Yeah, and Ron Paul R[evol]ution
Anonymous: touche.
Emily: good point.
Kyle: nice . . . you have a good memory :)
Josh (Ross): right now I'm casting my vote with Barak.
More on that to come in 2008 blogs.
I think if Rahab ran she'd still have less baggage than Hillary. ;)
Kara: the Graves house agreeing on this election . . . yeahhhh . . .
I'll be anxiously awaiting your blog on Barrak by the way.
David,
"anxiously awaiting" . . . I am confident that's a true statement!
Peace.

How about if we toss the whole lot of them out and start from scratch? I doubt we could much worse...

JMT,
Jim
I agree, Jim. I'm pretty sick of both parties. It seems like we ran out of statesmen a long time ago and all that's left are the politicians.
Jim and Crazy Saint . . .
Thanks for the good dialog. I'm a bit slow getting caught up on this.
My favorite line from Crazy Saint:
"On the Democrat side, I'd definitely take Barak over Hillary, but then I'd take my neighbor's dog over Hillary."
Wow. How do you really feel?
Good thoughts Jim~
